CORGI VANGUARD VA12608 1:43 O SCALE Ford Escort Mk2 RS1800, 'Eddie Stobart'

This Ford Escort Mk2 was built by Richard Lepley at Prepfab Motorsport Engineering for Jimmy McRae and Stobart Operations Director Andy Richardson to contest the 2006 Roger Albert Clark Rally. The RS1800, modelled here, was finished only two weeks before the rally and tested in Stang Forest by Jimmy and the late Colin McRae. Richard remembers Jimmy impressing on his World Rally Champion son that the car was to return undamaged; and it did!

McRae and Richardson won the event and the Stobart Group were overjoyed by the publicity, so agreed to sponsor an assault on the 2007 British Historic Rally Championship. The pairing won Category 3 of the Championship and came second in the R.A.C. after being delayed by punctures.
